Children in Need award Herts Inclusive theatre with a grant!

Here at HIT we are so pleased to announce that we were chosen to receive a grant from BBC Children in Need. This grant will enable us to continue providing crucial work for children across Hertfordshire and parts of London. We have seen firsthand how our theatre groups, workshops and community projects have impacted children’s lives, so it is wonderful to have that work recognised by BBC CIN.

BBC CIN does so much for children across the country, from helping those living in poverty to providing comfort for children with poor mental health. From last year’s appeal broadcast, almost 460,000 children were reached and given help. Of these children, 150,000 had
developed new skills, and 32,000 were safer. These are just two examples of the work BBC CIN do to improve the lives of children. We are so grateful for their support and we will use this grant to reach as many children as possible in Hertfordshire.

The appeal broadcast for BBC CIN 2023 is today (17th November 2023). You can catch the broadcast on BBC One tonight, starting at 7pm. If you need to catch up later, it will also be airing on BBC Two at 8:30am on Sunday morning, or at 2:55pm Sunday afternoon.

If you tune in tonight, do make sure to donate if you can. Last year, the appeal broadcast raised £35 million – let’s see if we can beat that this year! Grants like the one we’ve received are funded by the public’s donations to BBC Children in Need each year, so any donations you can make will make a big difference to charities like ours.
