Our History

Herts Inclusive Theatre is the leading inclusive theatre company in Hertfordshire. Leading the way for 22 years, we are a multi and national award-winning charity.

From September 2021 to August 2022, over 200 people benefitted from HIT’s programme of after school & daytime workshops. The organisation has built on its foundations laid out by the current Director, along with the support of a small team of experienced charitable and arts professionals. In 2022, HIT was honoured to be awarded the National Winner in Diversity and Inclusion as part of the British Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards programme.

In 2023 we were awarded one of the first King’s Awards for Voluntary Service, the highest honour a non for profit organisation can receive, and the group equivalent to an MBE.
