What do HIT freelancers do?

HIT freelancers are essential to the running of our termly drama groups and commissioned projects. As a freelancer, your tasks may include: leading weekly drama groups or projects, working towards end-of-term sharings or performances, creating workshop tools to support workshop delivery, and plenty more.

We are always looking for freelancers for a variety of roles, including but not limited to: lead facilitators, support facilitators, access facilitators, and dance and music specialists.

Who can join the freelance pool?

Who can join the freelance pool?

We are happy to receive applications from anyone to join our freelance pool. Current freelancers have experience in acting, dance, music, inclusive practice, and education. Prior training in the arts is desired but not necessary; we welcome applications from all different backgrounds. Training will be provided if needed.

Where will I be working?

Where will I be working?

HIT works across several locations in Hertfordshire, and projects that freelancers work on could come up across different areas in Hertfordshire and North London. However, HIT's regular groups happen in Borehamwood, Harrow, Hemel Hempstead, Ware, and Watford.

What training is available to HIT freelancers?

Freelancers with HIT have plenty of training and development opportunities. Our annual training programme has previously included training in safeguarding, first aid, BSL, inclusivity practice, de-escalation, and more. HIT also hosts regular skills-sharing days, in which staff, volunteers, and freelancers get together to work collaboratively.
