caroline stevens

Artistic Director, Caroline Stevens (nee England)

Caroline has a BA in Drama, Community Theatre and Media from Winchester University. Caroline has been the Director at HIT since January 2009. Caroline is a freelance Theatre Director and has worked for Hertsmere, Watford and St Albans Borough Councils, Link Up, Watford New Hope Trust, Actability Theatre Company and The Larches Trust. Caroline was previously Administrator for London Bubble Theatre Company, Education Coordinator for Trestle Theatre Company and Srishti Dance Company and has worked for Harrow Arts Centre and The Theatre Royal. Caroline has experience of running drama workshops for Naomi House Children’s Hospice and at Hope Lodge, Osborne and ShaftesburySchools, all of which are specialist. Caroline is a volunteer for Shape Arts.

Caroline was nominated as a Torchbearer for the 2012 Paralympics. She also performed in the Paralympic Opening Ceremony.

emma harrington

Producer, Emma Harrington

Emma volunteered for HIT between 2005 and 2008, before taking up the role of Assistant Director in 2009, and Producer in 2010. Emma is a qualified reflexologist, and complimentary therapist. Previously Emma had a ten year background working in corporate event management. Emma is HIT’s main contact for fundraising events and corporate contacts. Emma has a eight year old son, who is seen regularly at workshops and watching our performances!!

Emma took part in the 2012 'Tough Mudder', a 12 mile assault course as a fundraising challenge for HIT.

Alex Fulcher

Associate Director, Alex Fulcher

Alex has always been involved in theatre and attended many youth classes throughout her childhood, then began volunteering in the classes she once attended. Eventually she was offered a teaching position and was able to help children love theatre as much as she does!

Alex has tried her hand at roles in the theatre and on TV; some highlights include adapting and directing a sold out stage production of "The Breakfast Club" and working at "ZOO Venues" for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She graduated from Loughborough University in 2017 with a BA in Drama with a Minor in Business, and in one of her last modules discovered what she wanted to do - Applied Drama.

Liz

Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, Liz Pilny

Liz started fundraising in 2004 for Grove House Hospice in St Albans, where she worked for 8 years. She has since fundraised for Watford Mencap, and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. She has a wealth of knowledge in Community Fundraising and is an experienced networking in the Watford and St Albans area.

Although she has no direct experience in the arts, her children do. Her daughter is a professional actress, having worked in tv and theatre across the UK and her son is a Creative Video Director, making adverts and music videos in Sydney Australia.

Her main interest is cycling and she is proud to have completed the John O’Groat’s to Land’s End challenge in 2011. Her next big cycle challenge is The Prudential 100.

Katherine Bio Image

Administrator, Katherine Leonard

In 2017, Katherine graduated with a First Class Honours in Arts and Events Management from the Arts University Bournemouth and has since gained experience in the arts sector working as a Gallery Assistant in London. Whilst at University she learned of her passion for community arts, leading her to produce creative events and opportunities such as workshops and talks for people in the local area.

In her spare time, Katherine puts her strong interest in the arts to practice through drawing and making pottery.

Eloise

Workshop Coordinator, Eloise Murphy

Eloise has always had a love for all things theatre and the arts. Having taken part in theatre from a young age, she went on to graduate from Loughborough University with a degree in Drama with a Minor in Business in 2017.

During her time at University, Eloise was lucky enough to Production Manage several projects including her final year performance and two shows that were taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016. Additionally, she played a large part within the Stage Society, becoming the Backstage Representative and an integral part of the production for their shows. Eloise also has experience within TV, as in 2015 she was part of the production team for a new CBBC show.

janita morrell

Finance and Admin Assistant (Part time), Janita Morrell

Janita has worked with HIT since 2010. She has a wealth of experience within the entertainment industry; her first professional performance was at the age of 4 in a family act with her late sister Juel, brother John and her father Eddie, who was a well-known comic in the thirties onwards. She has worked with many “old” performers, Tommy Trinder, Charlie Chester, The Seekers to name but a few, over a period of 25 years.
