– The opportunity to gain rewarding experience working with a charity/ Arts organisation
– An opportunity to work directly with young people and adults on fun, creative projects

What will I be doing?
Volunteers are generally needed to assist at our Children’s, Youth and Adult theatre groups and
will work alongside our Workshop Facilitators to support the smooth running of the sessions. You’ll
join in with the activities and have some fun getting to know all of our participants. You will help
support with mobility of participants if needed and provide general encouragement to our slightly
shyer members to take part. Should you feel that working within our workshops may not be for
you, HIT also has a number of other opportunities that may be of interest including; Front of
House, Marketing, Videography, Photography and even fun things that take place backstage at
our performances including lighting and sound. We also have opportunities for those with an
interest in promoting the work of the charity to attend various promotional events and various
fundraising opportunities, such as school fetes and community fairs.

Don’t just take it from us that volunteering is great. Here is what some of our volunteers say about volunteering at HIT…
I'm new to volunteering and to HIT. I help with the adult acting up class. I have been made to feel very welcome and really enjoy the variety of things we do. A great bunch of staff, members and of course volunteers!

My role has really changed how I feel about myself. It gives me immense pleasure to help others and it's an excellent way of connecting with people. It's uplifting and gives me a sense of purpose in filling my spare time. Gratitude and giving go hand in hand and it's always a great feeling to be kind wherever possible! I love the team and participants and feel I have made some great friends too!

I have been a volunteer for HIT since January 2016. I feel lucky to have found such a fantastic group. The highlight for me is seeing the participants faces light up when they perform and how they love having an audience. I would recommend HIT to anyone who can spare a few hours a week to get involved as I'm sure you will get out what you put in and much more. Truly inspiring!
