Herts Inclusive Theatre are looking to expand their pool of freelance workshop leaders,
especially those with SEN knowledge and experience.
Herts Inclusive Theatre (HIT) changes the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people by using
theatre as a tool for development giving them access and opportunities which in turn enhance
their lives. Through the use of drama, movement, music and theatre techniques we build
people's confidence, communication skills and to help build social inclusion.
Now in its 17th year, HIT, are at the very heart of Hertfordshire's thriving arts scene, and are
established as one of the county's leading inclusive theatre charities. We support and work with
wonderful mix of children, young people, and adults, who collectively, encapsulate our inclusive
ethos. We are open to everyone and we welcome new participants all year round.
Our weekly drama workshops are designed to engage stimulate and spark the imagination,
whilst at the same time offering a safe and welcoming environment to learn new skills, make
new friendships and have lots of fun! We also work in partnership schools, local councils and
leading retailers to deliver an exciting range of drama, arts and crafts and popular story-time
We are looking for workshop leaders to join our current pool for freelance opportunities that
arise throughout the year, and also for a couple of regular workshops in the South West
Experience of working inclusively or with disabled children, young people and adults is desirable
but not essential as training can be provided.
Due to the nature of the work a driving license and access to transport is ESSENTIAL.
We are in particular looking for people based in the South-West Hertfordshire area, but please
apply if you fit the bill and are outside this area.
